Rezumat: The progressive reduction of the fossil carburant resources and their consequently rising up prices determine un outstanding interest for viable alternatives to the classic power plants, capable to cover gradually the increesing demand for energy in the close future. The present paper tries to emphasize the capacity of the Solar Power Plants to face this demand and the main trends envisaged for their future development.
