Abstract: This paper deals with the second law analysis of compressible turbulent flow through a cooled high stagger turbine passage. The mathematicai model of flow includes the ftdl form of averaged Navier-Stokes system of equations at which the "Low Reynolds Number" formulations of the two equations K-eor K-co titrbulence models are added. The mathematicai model of flow irreversibilities is obtained by averaging the instantaneous volumetric rate of entropy generation. The averaging result shows thal the fluctuating fleld of flow properties generates at the mean molion level new kinds of irreversibilities that have signiflcant influence on the exergy dissipation mechanisms. The numerica! tests performed in this paper emphasis that the accuracy of flow irreversibiiity prediction strongly depends on the turbulence model behavior in simulating the boundary layer transitionfrom laminar to turbulent flow as well as the relaminarisation.
