Metode de masurare a largimii de banda disponibile, pentru conexiuni in retele pe fir

Rezumat: In retelele de comunicatii de date, largimea de banda disponibila a conexiunilor este importanta pentru transferul rapid al datelor, furnizarea serviciilor de banda larga catre utilizatori si functionarea diferitelor aplicatii. Largimea de banda disponibila impreuna cu rata de pierdere a pachetelor pot crea o imagine asupra performantelor conexiunii la un moment dat. Metodele de masurare a largimii de banda disponibile se bazeaza pe doua modele: PRM (Probe Rate Model) si PGM (Probe Gap Model), care utilizeaza una dintre tehnicile: PPD (Packet Pair Dispersion), PTD (Packet Train Dispersion), VPS (Variable Packet Size) sau SLoPS (Self Loading Periodic Stream), sau o combinatie intre acestea. Articolul prezinta doua metode de masurare corespunzatoare celor doua modele existente.

Abstract: In data communication networks, path available bandwidth is important for fast data transfer, providing broadband services to users and the operation of various applications. Available bandwidth and packet loss rate can create a picture of the path performance at a time. Available bandwidth test methods is based on two models: PRM (Probe Rate Model) and PGM (Probe Gap Model), using one of the techniques: PPD (Packet Pair Dispersion), PTD (Packet Train Dispersion), VPS (Variable Packet Size) or SLoPS (Self Loading Periodic Stream), or a combination thereof. The article presents two measurement methods corresponding to this two existing models.
