SIMULATION OF DRYING OF A WOOL YARN

Abstract: In this study drying behavior of a single wool yarn is studied numerically with Comsol Multiphysics modeling and simulation software for driying air temperatures of 70oC, 80oC and 90oC. Temperature and moisture content distributions in the yarn are obtained by using one dimensional, simultaneous heat and mass transfer model. Because of the diffusion is the most effective mass transfer mechanism in the yarn, diffusion equation is used for mass transfer
